Digital Radio launches Country Star competition

Digital Rodeo, country music’s one-stop shop and Eventful, Inc., the leading digital service connecting consumers with entertainment and local events, launched Digital Rodeo’s Country Star competition. Unsigned music artists can opt-in for free through
http://eventful.com/digitalrodeo
and compete via Eventful’s unique “Demand it!®” service. Music artists, empowered with social media tools, can encourage their fans to vote for them.

Digital Rodeo and Eventful are providing a glimpse of how technology and social communities can create a powerful, new promotional platform for new music artists while enabling them to develop an intimate connection with their fans. Music fans can vote for their favorite unsigned artist or band to become the next Country Star and win:

· Studio time to record three singles at 16 Ton Studio located on Nashville’s famous Music Row.

· A customized website including a merchandise store by Music City Networks and Merchmo.

· Country Music Association (CMA) prize package:

o VIP trip for two to the 2012 Country Music Awards airing live in Nashville, Tenn. on Nov.1 (includes airfare, five night hotel stay and two tickets to the awards show and Christmas Special).

o CMA Prize Package of assorted merchandise and materials.

The Top 25 artists with the most “Demands” will move to the semifinals where they will be narrowed down to the top five by music industry experts:

· Cory Chapman, Director of Marketing, Country Music Association

· Jason Deere, Singer, Songwriter, Producer

· Jeff Walker, President, Aristo Media

· John Pyne, Director of Marketing and Promotion, Digital Rodeo

· Lang Scott, President, Music City Interactive, Singer, Instrumentalist, Producer

· Robert Reynolds, Grammy Winner, Founding Member of the Mavericks

Fans will then vote on the final winner from the Top five chosen finalists. Music artists should encourage their fans to spread the word virally across Facebook and Twitter throughout the process and invite friends to “Demand” their favorite artist or group as well. Eventful and Digital Rodeo will announce the Country Star winner on Oct. 3.

"From its inception Digital Rodeo has strived to provide independent country artists a platform to promote their music to a very filtered group of country music fans,” said John Pyne, Director of Marketing and Promotion for Digital Rodeo. “We are excited to be working with Eventful on this contest; their experience and outreach for these types of promotions are second to none. We hope that, with this contest, even more country artists will come to trust and turn to Digital Rodeo as a valued partner in their musical journey. We can't wait to discover, along with the fans, the talent that is out there waiting to be heard."

“We’re excited to work with Digital Rodeo to discover which unsigned artist has what it takes to bask in the CMA experience and record three singles with 16 Ton Studio,” said Eventful CEO Jordan Glazier. “There is no better way to introduce great new talent to the world than to bring fans into the process and allow them to decide who will experience the next level of success.”
